Johann Castberg FPSO – Process pumps for oil processing

“Add on” we received another order for delivery of a total of 4 centrifugal pumps (1 pc. Horizontal multistage pump SKPDE 80-200-80-8 & 3 pcs. Vertical inline pumps INP-AI-50-50-250) according to specification API 610 (Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industries) with explosion-proofed electric motors. The shaft sealing of our centrifugal pumps are equipped with double-acting mechanical seal systems according to API with sealing liquid by EagleBurgmann. The process pumps are used for oil processing aboard the production ship. We also received this order again with our long-standing cooperation partner Delta-P Pump- og Kompressorsystemer AS in Sandvika, Norway. The equipment for the process technology “on board” is supplied by Aker Solutions in Norway.

A floating production storage and offloading unit is a ship for the transport, storage, cleaning and loading of the extracted oil. The total investment of the operator Statoil AS from Norway for the new construction of the production unit is approximately 4.9 billion euros. The location of the new production ship is located in the Norwegian Barents Sea in the European North Sea. The production start is planned for the year 2022.

The Johann Castberg oil field is located approximately 100 km northwest of the coastline of Norway in the Barents Sea with an estimated total production volume of 450 – 650 million barrels of crude oil.
