Johann Castberg FPSO – Foam pumps for fire fight fighting system to production unit

Before the end of 2017, we also received an order for the supply of 4 nos. of INP-A 80-80-315 vertical in-line pumps made in stainless steel 1.4408 with explosion-proofed electric motors 90kW, 3500min-1  and necessary accessories. The foam pumps are used for the fire fighting system on board of production unit. We also received this order together with our long-term co-operation partner Delta-P Pump- og Kompressorsystemer AS in Sandvika, Norway. All the technical equipment to production unit is supplied by Frank Mohn Flatøy AS Oil & Gas Division in Bergen, Norway.

A Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) is a vessel for the transport, storage, cleaning and loading of extracted crude oil. The total investment of the operator Statoil AS in Norway for the new construction of the production unit is approximately 4.9 Billion Euros. The location of the new production unit is in the Norwegian Barents Sea in the Northern European Sea. The production start is planned for the year 2022.

The Johann Castberg oil field is located approximately 100 km northwest of the coastline of Norway in the Barents Sea with an estimated total production volume of 450 – 650 million barrels of crude oil.
